Florida Hog Hunting WMA's

Hunting Wildlife Management Areas in Florida will require you to buy special permits. There are hog hunting seasons and restrictions when hunting in the Florida WMA's. They are considered this because of their destructive nature.

You can get your WMA permits online for hog hunting these areas. The permits are issued on first come, first served basis begining October 13, 2008. Florida Hog Hunting Outfitter Selection

When you choose a hog hunting guide in Florida you should make sure it is a "fair chase" hunt. That means that the hogs are not trapped and then released, held in pens, or otherwise detained until you are ready for your hunt.

You want to hunt them on open land. Ideally you are looking for a good outfitter that hunts several different ranches or properties. The properties will range from pastures, to farm land and even orchards. These typs of hunts will give you the most entertainment.

There are quite a few hog hunting guides in Florida. Make sure you get in touch with them before the season starts and they will help you get all the paperwork sorted out.
